Marriage Bites

I have come up with an idea on writing down my thoughts and reflections about my journey and transition from being single to married. Basically, this will be just to fill this blog with something while I have nothing much to update for the wedding. Hahahah. This series of posts will be called Marriage Bites!

This idea was inspired by The WTB Diary sharing sessions that I have attended, which started almost 2 years ago. One of the activities that we did was referred to as the ice cream sticks questions. Those who attended, would know what I’m talking about.

So Marriage Bites will be a series of blog posts, whereby I will posting questions and topics about marriage and then I will share my thoughts on them by answering the questions. Each post will have one topic or question, and will be published at a staggered period of maybe between a few days to a week. I already have a list of questions and topics prepared, but feel free to contribute more ideas!

It’s going to be very personal and maybe deep, but writing helps in my thinking process. And I hope that by publishing my thoughts, there will be other WTB/BTB girls out there who share some similar sentiments as me and we know that we are not alone in this journey.

Afterall, a wedding will just last one weekend, but a marriage will last a lifetime.

Vendor Bites

Ever since I started this blog, I have been following and reading other BTB blogs just to have an idea of what BTBs usually blog about. Maklumlah, it’s my first time having a BTB blog (lol) so I noob sikit. Anyway, it’s been really fun and entertaining reading all the other ladies’ blogs about their wedding preparations, marriage preparations and how life changes after their engagement; the good, the bad and the ugly. It’s all part and parcel of the journey. I can totally relate to most stories. So excited for all you girls! I even read the Malay/Muslim Weddings forum thread on Cozycot hahaha. Ok, so after reading so many wedding stories, I think it’s time for me to start writing about my own wedding lah eh. Continue reading “Vendor Bites”

Expectation vs Reality

I must admit, I used to have high expectations on my future wedding. This was during my own version of zaman jahiliyah, when I was more shallow-minded, thinking that having a massive grand wedding is the ultimate goal in life. How? Because I watch TONNES of Bollywood movies since I was a toddler (I still do). As I grow older, of course I get wiser (lol), and then when it’s really time to really get married, reality sets it. Countdown: 10 months

Looking at my calendar, 10 months sounds like it will fly very fast. But at the same time, 300 days feels like it’s still a long time to go. And I have no idea how I am supposed to feel right now. Am I supposed to start panicking now that the number of months left can be counted with 2 hands? Or do I still have time to take it slow and steady to absorb the fact that my life is going to change forever? Continue reading “Countdown: 10 months”
